Okay, if you see my rating you will probably say it's exaggerated. VERDICT - Save yourself the time and skip this poor excuse of a sequel The same goes for the other kids with the only exception being Mitsuki who is kinda interesting. That's the whole shtick Boruto has got going on for himself. An entitled, whiny brat that hates his father. Boruto is a poor excuse for a main character. The music is just there to complement the animation but none of the soundtracks remain in the memory after the episode ends.ĬHARACTERS - Atrocious copies of the former cast. The animation is good, colorful and vivid, worthy for a Shonen anime. The fact that the Genin-level main cast can deal with Chuunin-Jounin level shinobi on a frequent basis is just awful writing. It's just this slice of life bullshit that doesn't build character at all, just random missions. The plot has had no real development since the first episode, nothing really happens. This show is as much of a disappointment as a sequel to the original, as it is as a stand alone show. It took me 40 episodes to realize that whatever the first Naruto had, Boruto lacks completely. "The Sequel No One Asked For But Still Got" There ARE people who are enjoying this show! I think the show itself fits/reflects the transition into the time of peace very nicely. If it's not for you, it's not for you, but I just definitely wouldn't go into Boruto thinking it'll be the same as Naruto. The parallels that happen between the two shows also makes it a fun watch! The kids are all so cute and it's cool to see them utilizing the combined abilities they inherited from their parents. Additionally, it's great to see the happy grown-up Naruto characters, finally living their dreams or having peaceful lives after the war with their families. His abilities and growing powers leaves me really excited for what is to come in the future. In the end, Boruto is just a kind and lovable kid with his own ninja way of never abandoning his friends and goal of becoming a powerful ninja who can one day assist the Hokage. However, through various events, Boruto does finally come to realize how fortunate he is in contrast with his dad's lonely and sad upbringing and grows out of the wanting acknowledgement / attention phase,Įspecially as he starts to admire Sasuke who protects from the shadows. This greatly contrasts Naruto's childhood, so I understand why people could initially write Boruto off as just a spoiled brat. Sure, some of the arcs and fillers are BORING, but the main characters and ultimate storyline are super fun and interesting!!īoruto is a natural-born genius with lots of friends and a loving family. I have caught up to the recent 155 episodes and have to say I really really love this show. Check out the manga but avoid the anime at all costs! The anime is mostly not based on the manga but is instead anime canon (I don't know why?). Update: I have been reading the Boruto manga for a while now and it is good. The fight scenes areĪll boring to watch with no real cost to their outcome and kids who aren't even genin yet beat jounin level shinobi constantly.Īs someone who's watched Naruto and Naruto Shipudden, I have to say I'm disappointed. As the main character, 80% of his identity is the fact that he "hates" his dad, Naruto. It feels like the story is just bumbling on and skipping any of the episodes will have resulted in me missing nothing.īoruto (the character) is the worst part of it all. The animation is atrocious half of the time and there is zero plot development. I can't believe that it took me 31 episodes before I finally accepted how awful it is.īoruto tries to capitalise on Naruto nostalgia but has nothing going for it. New friends and familiar faces join Boruto as a new story begins in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations.īoruto is a trainwreck. However, a sinister force brewing within the village may threaten Boruto's carefree life. Unfortunately, this has only worsened his arrogance and his desire to surpass Naruto which, along with his father's busy lifestyle, has strained their relationship. Despite having inherited Naruto's boisterous and stubborn demeanor, Boruto is considered a prodigy and is able to unleash his potential with the help of supportive friends and family. Under the watchful eye of Naruto and his old comrades, a new generation of shinobi has stepped up to learn the ways of the ninja.īoruto Uzumaki is often the center of attention as the son of the Seventh Hokage. Now resembling a modern metropolis, Konohagakure has changed, particularly the life of a shinobi. This is all due to the efforts of the Allied Shinobi Forces and the village's Seventh Hokage, Naruto Uzumaki. Following the successful end of the Fourth Shinobi World War, Konohagakure has been enjoying a period of peace, prosperity, and extraordinary technological advancement.
